A full week for agrifood in New Zealand

Dr. Abby Thompson, our COO, had an eventful week in New Zealand, engaging with the agrifood community at two significant events.

On June 18-19, Abby was at E Tipu: The Boma Agri Summit in Palmerston North. She participated in a panel discussion hosted by AgriFutures growAG, focusing on the benefits and challenges of Trans-Tasman collaboration. Alongside Dr. Kioumars Ghamkhar from Map and Zap and AgResearch, Abby discussed the opportunities Miruku sees to bring their safflower crops to market in Australia.

Following this, Abby attended the inaugural Climate Tech Summit Aotearoa in Wellington on June 20. She joined a panel discussion on 'Feeding 10 Billion by 2050', chaired by Phil Morle, Partner at Main Sequence Ventures, with Irina Miller, CEO of Daisy Labs. This discussion highlighted the need for transformative innovation and a multi-faceted approach to developing new food production systems.

It was a busy week, filled with valuable opportunities to share Miruku's ambitions with engaged audiences, reconnect with others in the ecosystem, and expand our networks. Always wonderful to be part of these important conversations!
